Dorothy Louise (Claycomb) Boisen passed away February 20, 2013 in Bellingham, Washington, after an extended illness.
She was born January 22, 1923 in Worland, Wyoming, and later lived in varied locations, including Peetz, CO; Sidney, NE; Edmonds and Seattle, WA; Phoenix, AZ; Andover, MA; and Laurel, MD. She moved to Bellingham with her son Sean and his wife Donna in 2007.
She worked in the travel industry for 40 years as an agent, tour guide, instructor, and trainer, and was a Certified Travel Consultant. Her travel employment included Evergreen Travel in Lynnwood, WA; Edmonds Travel Center in Edmonds, WA, where she was a partner; Loyal Travel and Allper Travel in Seattle, WA; Mundus Travel School, Woodside Travel Services, Bianchi Travel, and Travel House in Phoenix, AZ; and Holland America and Royalty Travel in Seattle. Throughout her travel career she traveled extensively in Europe and Mexico, and also visited Asia, the South Pacific, Australia, New Zealand, the Mediterranean, North Africa, and South America.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Myles Boisen of Oakland, CA; her son, Sean Boisen and his wife Donna of Ferndale, WA; grandchildren Crystal and Aaron Schrade of Stratford, CT; Claire and Steve White of Washington, DC; Drew and Anne Marie Zarba of Seattle, WA; Michael Zarba of Seattle, WA; Leah Boisen of Pittsburgh, PA; and two great-granddaughters, Elenor and Esther Schrade.
